Otherkin pride flag by BeyondLGBT

Today, we discovered that there are otherkin pride flags and that there’s actually a bunch of them (this is just the community pride flag, but there are specific ones too. It’s wild).

-James & Amethyst

They do exist, but they’re not exactly completely accepted within the community. 95% of otherkin pride flags are made by trolls and grossly misinformed folks. A few older users suggested calling them identity banners, to divorce the misinformation that otherkin is a queer identity, which on its own it isn’t. I can see the use for these sorts of creations, but don’t mistake that because they exist, everyone accepts them, because it’s quite the argument-starter.

Might want to do a bit of research before accepting such things, but at least now you know some of it.

Otherkin: It’s a past life thing! You know, like one of those pagan religions.

Me, a wiccan: BITCH DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG YOU HAVE TO MEDITATE TO EVEN CATCH A GLIMPSE OF A PAST LIFE OR FIND A FAMILIAR??? EXCUSE ME IF I DON’T BELIEVE YOU’RE HAN SOLO!

Who’s gonna tell poor OP that ‘Wiccan’ and ‘pagan’ are not synonyms, and that past-life otherkin are in fact a minority in the community…?

draconic-discourse:

russianoreos:

Hey antikin

Do us a favor and go swallow a fucking thumbtack

Or how about no, and we act like mature beings and instead of wishing them harm, show them the error of their ways?

OP, if you wouldn’t go to their house and do the act with your own bare hands, don’t tell them to do it.
You can be nicer than that. I’m disappointed in you.

deatial:

Let me clarify:

Problematic kins (Anne Frank kin, Adolf Hitler kin, Sandy Hook kin) are NOT okay! But things like starkin, faeriekin, catkin etc etc are totally fine! U do u kins!

You ever just wonder if tumblrkin are aware that one, you can’t choose your kintypes, and two, factkin are almost entirely a false concept created by antis?
Because at this point I don’t think they will.

Ask Box is Open

porcupine-angel:

Hello! I’m an ask, oc & partial aesthetic blog! ( I wonder if the divine community won’t mind interacting with me since i’m an angelsona )

“Greetings, my name is Zachary. I’m a solitary angel looking for
friends. I am a non-abrahamic angel and so I do not belong to any choir
or hierarchy. Hmm, my domain is probably healing and destruction. I love shitposts.”

I think you fundamentally do not understand what the actuallyangelic/divine/deific tags are for.

These are for otherkin. People who identify AS these things involuntarily and nonphysically. You are a roleplayer. You do not belong in our community, because you don’t fit the definition of the word we gather around. You do not identify as an angel, you just roleplay as one.

Using our tags and pretending to be one of us when you’re so obviously not is incredibly disrespectful. Please get out of our tags. Go find other roleplayers. We’re not roleplaying, and this is not a joke.

That being said, actuallydeific is not an angel tag. It is for deities and other god-identifying people. No matter how you spin it, angels are not deities. Some Abrahamic demons are also pagan deities, and thus qualify, but angels do not. That’s also incredibly disrespectful.

I hold you no ill will, but get out of our tags. They’re not for you, and you’re clogging them up with your nonsense.

edit- the tags are also for those with delusions of being these things. Forgot that for a second, I’m not in the greatest headspace. Still, you don’t fit that requirement.

an aesthetic for a chelan who was god of a forest world and wore lolita fashion in blue? think dark glowy forest paired with bright sunshiny forest and plenty of blue + purple flowers. the devil (me, noncanon) wore green and chelan was my princess (i was the queen) and things were pretty awesome. also think watgbs but with forest stuff instead of sea. thank you!

QUESTION

youraverageqilin:

I have seen people making a distinction between “kintype” “kin” “ID” “literally me” “kinning” and things like that.

What the fudge? What do they think each one of them is? Please send answers because I really want to know. For the lulz.

Kintype: The thing that you identify as that makes you otherkin.

Kin: Shorthand for otherkin / fictionkin. Also used as a suffix sometimes for some kintypes (ex. identifying as an elf means you’re elfkin, and an elf is your kintype.)

ID: Shorthand for ‘identity’ / ‘identify’. Some wishkin (folks who aren’t kin but wish they were and also insist they are when they aren’t) insist that an ID is ‘more you’ than a kintype. They are misinformed at best, and downright malicious at worst.

‘Literally me’: Something you’ll only really find around wishkin. A kintype is literally you. (Obviously not physically, but you get the idea.)

‘Kinning’: Also a wishkin thing. It implies that being otherkin is something you do, not something you are, and thus is frowned upon in the actual community. Please never use it seriously if you want to be taken seriously.

Hope that helps.

Hi kin tumblr.

otherkindfaq:

Did you miss me? It’s, uh. That guy. The actual otherkinfaq guy™. A few years older, more experienced, and recovered from the incident where my abuser took over my tumblr.

I don’t really know what to say, but I wanna put myself out there again.

I remember you. 😮 Vaguely, but I do. You knew plenty of stuff, back when I was a little baby fictionkind and not partying with the greymuzzles who deign to tolerate my existence. Welcome back!

I was wondering, do any other alterhumans feel connected to stories of ‘i was sent to a different world to be their savior and then got sent back to my old world and everything feels wrong now’? Personally I can relate heavily to what the protagonist in these stories go through (feeling robbed of a home, feeling abandoned, feeling weak) and I’m not sure if thats a me thing or…?

@azuchitohma I have and it made me cry T-T

(also sideblog) Did you get both its sequels? One follows Jack and Jill and the new one follows Sumi and Kade.

heroicpup:

Hello. I’ve asked this to multiple rabdom people already because I’m curious. I am not otherkin. I want to understand it better so I don’t judge you. What is you reason(if there is one) for being otherkin and why do you identify with your particular kin(s)?

My reason is because I don’t have a choice, and I’d be otherkin whether I wanted to be or not. And I don’t identify with them, I identify as them. Otherkinity isn’t just resonating with something; it’s identifying as something nonhuman on a nonphysical, involuntary, and profound level.

I am my kintypes because they’re me, and I’m them. I could go more in depth into my SBNR beliefs about it, but that’s pretty much it.
