Im curious

How many people have kinnned other peoples OC’s??

One, you mean ‘have kintypes of’, not ‘kinned’ – we are an identity, not an action. You do not choose your kintypes.

Two, if we’re talking OCs as in ‘this is my protagonist for this RPG I play’ or ‘there are some original characters of mine in a vague setting that I enjoy talking about’; the answer is probably maybe five. Our community isn’t big, and the chances of that happening are astronomically low.

However, if we’re talking OCs as in accepting that MCU!Thor is just Joss Whedon’s mythology-based OC, then you’re looking at the entire fictionkin community, though be wary of trolls and those who think fictionkinity is just a fancy way to use roleplaying and faceclaims to bully others and attempt to start some fucked up idea of a cult.

If you’ve got any other questions, let me know. (I do fall into the category of having a kintype of my own player character. It wasn’t the nicest thing that I’ve ever had to put up with.)

As some of y’all know, I used to be one of the two main mods on other//kinwords, and I miss graphic design like crazy.

If I started making graphics along that same vein again, would anybody be interested?

Tbh I miss the aesthetic that otherkinwords had, so if you had a blog like that I’d be into it.

Hello!

I’m kind of new to all of this, but recently I’ve felt kinda weird. I’ve always been a little, let’s say “chaotic” and maybe a little “demonic”. But this is different. I sometimes feel horns on my head and wings on my back. My teeth are weirdly enough sometimes feeling like fangs. So I’m starting to think, maybe I actually am a Demon. I need some help and maybe a small introduction to this entirely new feeling. Any demonkin or angelkin or in fact any kin that can explain this to me?

And also, I’d love to make some new friends on here!

What needs to be explained depends on what you know and what you want to know. Hello! I’m the resident Devil (aka demon-originating malevolent deity) and I’ve been here for probably four years now or something like that. I can answer most of your questions, and if I can’t, I either know who can or you have to figure it out for yourself, as all of us do.

What do you want to know?

Thank you for your response. I have many questions but I’m just going to ask a few, like:
1. Where could the “feeling like a demon” thing come from?
2. Would be bad if I was kind of acting like a demon?
3. What is all of this feeling wings, horns and stuff like that? Is it just some delusional nonsense I’m making up? I’m kind of worried that I’ll just feel and seem like a weirdo in the end.
4. What do I do if I’m actually an otherkin?

Please use reblogs, that’s easier for me if it is for you. Asks + PMs also work.

1. A lot of places. It could be spiritual (your soul is like that, you lived as a demon, you’re going to live as a demon, etc), or psychological (a coping mechanism made irreversible by time, brainweird stuff, etc). This is one of those things you have to figure out for yourself.

2. Depends on how illegal it is and how socially unacceptable it is. Biting people is bad. Being an arrogant jackass is bad. Wearing all black and answering ‘I haven’t decided yet’ to ‘you’re wearing all black, who died?’ is not bad. Being generally edgy and encouraging people to think of themselves before any god is not bad.

3. Supernumerary phantom limbs. They’re one of the more well known things about the community. It’s not bad, and can range from the false-hand trick to what you’ve got. People bitch about them a lot. Personally, my six phantom bat wings and the sudden feeling of eyes sprouting like freckles out of my skin are annoying.

4. Accept it, learn about it, and know a little more about your identity and who you are. Everything past that is up to you.

Anything else? c:

pwease show ur gratitude by following me, thank u

2/10. Original, I’ll give you that, it’s not often we see crow-deity trolls. But still a traditional godkin troll of ‘hurr durr I’m all powerful feed my ego by following / grovelling over me’. -3 points for also using ‘uwu’ culture.

I wish there were more blogs around that looks at otherkinity with a more skeptic eye, like a few “anti” kin blogs I know, except in the otherkin community, like that seriousotherkin blog I saw around months back. There needs more of that in the community, I can’t bear to see some people on this website with growing tumblr-brain rampant and unchecked

You’re looking for greymuzzles. kin-assistance is good, anti-kin-cringe is also good, elevengrackles, necrophagist, who-is-page, ranthimi, hallowedbone, aestherians, therianomalocaris, alynnafoxie, tsugamori, queenofblackcrows, and probably a few more that I’m missing, but they all reblog from each other anyway so you’re fine if you follow about two of them.

Wishkin are difficult to avoid unless you are liberal and creative with your block and blacklists. But it’s possible.

caristars:

Can someone plz explain ‘kin’ to me?

Back in my day (I say as a 20 yr old who’s been online since age 10), kin/otherkin specifically referred to people who felt a disconnect with their status as human and identified with an animal/element of nature which they felt best embodied their truest self and the most accurate version of who they are inside.

But now people don’t seem to use kin that way? I’m very confused what did I miss, why is it a meme to jokingly refer to yourself as (character)kin, and how did the shift happen from people genuinely identifying as other species to people listing characters they relate to? I’m so confused? Please help?

(This post is entirely genuine by the way, like I don’t mean any harm to anyone who is an example of either of the above examples, I’m just very confused because the definition changed and I want to understand the distinction and how to best be nice to anyone who identifies as/does the above.)

Your definition is pretty close to correct.

The “meme” (which is really just being disrespectful) is a lot of wishkin and what we’ve come to call ‘tumblrkin’, which is just a worse variety. They seem to think it’s a coping mechanism (copinglinking) / a roleplay / something fun; and refuse to acknowledge that they’re destroying parts of our actual community while they’re at it. When told off, they either “why do adults hate kids having fun” or “why are you so ableist??” and create echo chambers and cult-like environments so they don’t have to stop being rude and disrespectful.

You aren’t going to run into this outside of tumblr. The definition didn’t change. There’s just more awful people around who don’t seem interested on not being wrong.

As Godkin I am 100% genuinely surprised that I haven’t been called out yet

It’s because you’re Faerie Mom and quite literally the nicest person around, as opposed to me who tries to Fight everyone, and the idiots who get called out because they’re just plain obnoxious.
Nobody has any dirt on you, because there’s none to be found. :p

Idk i feel like in the general community, just claiming you’re a God is pretty controversial, let alone an immortal extradimensional Faerie Goddess.

Usually it would be, if it weren’t for the fact you’re so reasonable it would be like trying to tell you that your blue hair means they should suicide-bait you. They’d look stupid and I’ll bet the antis who are aware of your existence all know it, so they wouldn’t try.
It’s not that it isn’t controversial so much as you’re a damn difficult target to go after. Everyone will take one look at that and know that you’re not in the wrong, so it isn’t ideal to try to bully you.

B uh …

Blue hair??

I mean that sounds radical but I’ve never dyed my hair in my life.

I wouldn’t imagine that any antis would really particularly care about how they look lmao but if any of them ARE aware of me I appreciate them passing on the torches and pitch forks.

That being said if I’m ever featured in anti posts I hope to god someone tags me in it I live for drama

Only think I could think of off the top of my head. A normal person with blue hair isn’t worth it to bully just over the hair – you’re gonna look stupid. A person with blue hair who also dyed their arm hair and yells about it all the time? Yeah, they might get targeted.

Oh man, I just hope I get tagged, too. I love drama, especially as they can’t touch me or actually piss me off at this point. Drama’s good.
