So, I have a few questions.
Can someone that has a kin explain to me what it is? I’m not sure I understand? Is it like a “gender” or is it just something you really like instead of saying “I really like plants” you say “I’m plant-kin”? I’m genuinely confused and I don’t understand it. I’m not looking to offend anyone and I’m sorry if I do. I just want to understand more💕
Otherkinity is an ontological phenomenon in which someone identifies partially or entirely as a nonhuman (or fictional, in the case of fictionkind) entity on a nonphysical, involuntary, and profound level.
And all of those words are important. You are your kintype, your kintype is you. It’s not just really liking something. It comes from ‘other’ (not human, not elf, from the history) and the suffix -kind, as in mankind and elfinkind. It’s not kinship, as some tend to believe.
If you’ve got any questions, let me know, I can answer pretty much all of them.
